Germany discovers the GT-R

What can you expect when a german car magazine writes an article about the Nissan GT-R? Usually you can expect they compare it with a Porsche and like every other "good" German magazine the Porsche will get all Kudos and the rival a list of disadvantages.

Luckily some things change in this world and also the German press.

The german car magazine Auto Motor und Sport recently released a short article about the Nissan GT-R and expectations had been non-existing (about the article of course). Not this time. This time the comparison between Nissans next-edge car and the Porsche 911 turbo was quite positive for the GT-R.

Here is in short the most important:

The new 480 hp, with the same amount of horsepower under the hood as the Porsche 911 Turbo, just in terms of torque it must deal with 588 instead of 620 Nm beaten. He draws his power from a 3.8-liter V6 Biturbo, at low speed as the civil engine family a good coach does. Only when 3,500 to 4,000 revolutions crankshaft los he screams and enthusiastic with an incredibly powerful inaugural.

Within 3.6 seconds, it from zero to 100 km / h, the maximum speed is 314 km / h - also in the from March 2009 to Germany rolling version. The Nürburgring lap times were - that insure the Nissan engineers - at about 7:30 minutes and significantly below those of the 911 turbos. It shines with 20-inch wheels Allradler with an exemplary driving behavior and formally sticks to the asphalt.

Beside the fact that the (german) test driver was deflected by the displays and gauges he had only one more point of critics with the limited visibility.
So what we learn out of this? Yes, even Germany the home and slave of Porsche accepts the new Nissan GT-R and it's about time. While Great Britain the USA and of course the Asian market enjoyed previous Skylines this will be a premiere for us here. No sorry this will be THE premiere
