Hi i#m new here but very cool site. i'm from austria. There are quite many hondas in austria. ok Im young but as soon as i get my license i will also buy a car. My dad owns a honda accord and its cool. I like hondas and I'm very interested in the honda civics with hatchback. But i think i will get a mitsubishi eclipse. very nice shape and 150 PS are enough for me I think. but i want to do some body mods when i have the car. Do you think eclipse is good to start?

Ok I talk for myself but both are great platforms. You can be sure that the aftermarket support for the Civic is great, but on the other an eclipse is also a very good starting point. Me personally I would go for the eclipse (most probably) but as it seems you some time to think about.
And hey don't excuse for your english. As long as we understand what you write its good ;)

Dude go for the Civic because of one reason. The aftermarket support. I see its your first car so no doubt the Civic is best here. You will find nearly everything and it is also a great platform to start. The Eclipse is also a great car and the Spider is one of my favs but imagine you will have a problem? I suppose that more people will be able to help you on the civic than on the eclipse.

For parts and support, the Honda is better. The Eclipse is more of a project car and requires you to have a little more knowledge in actually building it. It has as much support as the honda, but for ease of build and tons of aftermarket support... The Honda beats it by leaps and bounds. Castrol had a competition on engine building and the Honda engine that was built pushed 350hp. That's nothing to laugh at. You can get that, too. The only issue is that it will cost some real coin. (lots of cash) Even if you don't plan on building a monster, the Honda has better following. Try building a Kia... LOL! It's different. Just kidding! LOL! Stick with the Honda.

Hey thats not a joke. there is a tuning company in northern Germany tuning Kia's. I'm not kidding. I'll try to find the link again, and I must admit I was laughing all the day when I first heard of that but why not? Imagine getting burned by a Kia at next traffic light *ROFL*
