Haha I thought I have to tell you that. Last year I visited a course for learning spanish. Not only because it's a very important language (I think more important then french) in these days but also because I like spain and I'm a big Real Madrid fan and because my dream is to visit some day Mexico, Puero Rico and Argentina.
So my course last year (it was a first steps course or in other words spanish for dummies lol) finished and I thought of continue that.
I wonder what languages you people speak? I know we have some guys from Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain and the USA. I speak greek, german, english (it could be better as you say daily here lol) and a bit of french but now I'm also learning spanish yippie.

If you plan on sticking with spanish, you have to take into consideration that spanish in Spain is not the same spanish that is spoken in Mexico or even in Puerto Rico. I'm Puerto Rican and the dialect changes from country to country and the slang is very different as well. Basics will help, but to really learn spanish, you have to speak it every day with some one that knows the language. I just recently started to what my mother inlaw speaks, though I still get lost at times. She is Gallega (Pronounced, GA-YE-GA or GA-JE-GA, depending on the dialect). She comes from the a town called Galicia, in the very North Western part of Spain. It's North of another town (or city) called Vigo. I've been there to visit the little womans family twice and I keep in constant communication. It's cool to know different languages, though. I'm trying to learn Japanese as well. LOL! I'm not getting any better, though. My GALLEGO gets inthe way! LOL!

Hey cool thats intersting so your roots are also in europe? I know that dude. They already showed us the differences. Our teacher is from Mexico and she does it very good the job. Galicia is pronounced something like "Galithia" in spain and "Galisia" in Mexico and Argentina as far as I'm now. I love it. I will continue it. Learning spanish is in my opinion a must for freelancers. We had to learn at school english and french, something I don't understand. Why french? Only in France and in former Macao and some of the northern african countries you will need french. But imagine to who you could talk to if you know spanish. We have America, Europe, and even on the asian part (don't laugh that's right). It's a great language I think and it makes hell of fun.
