So what do you think about this. As we heard and read in the news Porsche claimed Nissan to have cheaten with the lap times at the 'Ring. I know it all happened nearly 2 weeks ago but I still wonder why a company like this (Porsche) shows such a behaviour and seems to be very un-professional. In my oppinion this is not a usual competition between car manufacturers but a very stupid announcement.

So what do you guys think??

I don't think that this behaviour is right but on the other side maybe Porsche is afraid to loose their local status of monopoly??? Other skylines never have been officially released here so the R35 is a real rival to the 911 turbo. I think it was not right to let an engineer drive a car he had never heard of or at least absolutely no experience with it. It's never enough only to know the track you race on. You should first know the ride you are driving.

Indeed it's the first skyline. What makes me angry is that Porsche doesn't piss on Ferrari or others. Now a Japanese car is equal or even better than their flagship and they all are pissed. Maybe because of the price of a 911 turbo compared to the price of a GT-R? I mean 140.000 € vs 80.000€ is really a difference. But what is Porsche afraid of? They are targeting a complete different segment of customers? They are specialized on 60+ year old men with some extra money on their account who are trying to impress the sweet little 16 girls. No really take a look who drives a Porsche. Who is under 40? very very view. I'm not talking about the Boxsters or in former times the 944 but on the Carreras and so on. Most guys driving an "upper class" Porsche are 60+.

So the GT-R is sure not an old-man ride I think. If you would be a german millionair you would definitely buy a Porsche. 140.000€ and nearly 40.000 € out of them go for the name. Driving a Porsche is like showing your status.

So don't be afraid Porsche. Old men will still buy a Porsche instead of Nissan.

I already said that the GT-R is THE bad-ass ride of the last years. It's not only a direct rival but a 911-killer. But honestly this all may only be the press game. If so than porsche would talk about any car with more than 400hp and try to call them cheaters and I don't know what else.

I think Best motoring international has a direct compare with the GT-R and the 911 so if not than both cars should be driven on the nurburgring with drivers who know their rides. Only that will show.

honestly the fact that they need to look for a reason to explain this (in our case the tires) is really bad. showing porsche in a bad light. What's next? Will they say Nissan used special secret gas?

In my opinion this is not right from porsche. although i live in Germany and like Porsche very much I cannot support the behaviour of the company. What is intersting is that I didn't read about this tet-a-tet between Porsche and Nissan in german media. I don't support this becuase imagine every time Mercedes releases a car BMW would act so. This is kind for kindergarden. As a german who also likes Porsche I don't support the statements of porsche. Shame

so we can suppose the story ended here? I watched the video and maybe I'm not a technician the driver of the gt-r seems to know his ride and also the track. I think Porsche is pissed and I mean really pissed off

Its sure not an equal comparison when the porsche is driven by a year long experienced porsche driver and the gtr is driven by a engineer only because he knows the track. You would beat a Formular 1 car with a stock Mercedes CLK if the CLK is driven by an experienced driver and the Formula 1 car is driven by a everyday driver. Thats sure not an equal compare
