Thinking of a new car

I'm seriously thinking of a new car. For over 6 months I'm thinking of it. In fact I was close to get a S2000. I'm in love with this car as long as I can think. It's a dream for me. But for some time now I think of getting a car of a different brand. Ok I drive a Honda Integra and I love Hondas but I think its really time now to get something different. I'm tending to an older Toyota Supra, I think not older than 1994 to get the model with the headlights. I already took a look at some of the available ones here in Germany. They cost about 17k €. I think thats ok for a car with about 280-300 PS and in good condition. On the other hand for 18k I can get a S2000 with about 50.000 KM and 2005 model.
Considering that I want the car as stock as possible to do the JDM thing again (which I totally missed on my teg ;)) the support for parts is on both cars good but also difficult and most probably expensive (because of the German laws).
To tell you the truth I have already planned how the cars will be build (for both cars I know you guys are laughing now).
For the S2000 I will put the Ings+1 bodykit a pearl white color (not metallic this time) and black RAYS rims (those with the red line outside). Inside I will try to leave it as stock as possible beside some additional gauges simply because I learned to love them and learn to use them.
If I would go for the Supra I would go for the Top Secret front bumper and side skirts and maybe a new/bigger turbo.

Tell you the truth? I don't want to know what restrictions I will face with laws since the body modifications must be validated by state institutions and will cost more then the build itself but hey fuck it.
What do you guys think? I know with turboz32, NismoKid, and turbozillar mainly Nissan guys are dominating here but d'you have suggestions which make my decission easier?

no dude. don't do that. I mean both are great cars but you already have a very beatiful (non-JDM ;) car. If I were you I would go for something new like you said with the supra but not the supra itself. It's a way too old car. There are couple of rides which are great such as an evo or the wrx. On the other hand the S2k rocks!!!

if you dont mind fighting years of dirt/road grime buildup/ rust go with the supra but leave the body stock, slam it to the ground, wheels and lip kit... you shouldnt have any problems with the body mods since its an additional lip instead of an entire bumper being replaced.  focus on the motor... build the 2J for some power and make it reliable, but be smart going from fwd to rwd is a jump and especially with a supra that likes to kick out under a bit of load.  I say if you can find one in decent shape thats been unmolested do it.  theres absolutely nothing sexier than a stock bodied supra with a c-one lip, a big ass turbo and cage slammed with wheels and the only things you can see are the IC and the exhaust to let u know its modded.  that my vote, or go get a 350Z haha

i like the s2k but its overdone, you dont see many tastefully modded supras very often... not to mention the supra gets respect from anyone no matter what, the s2k has to earn the respect

thanks man. good points. If I would go for a new turbo on the 2JZ is there anything I have to take care of like camshaft, valves etc? I never had a car with a turbo so I'm fairly new to the whole topic. What makes me hesitate is that I would drop 17k to a car that is half as old as I am. Lets assume I would find one at very good conditions no grime I would get it immediately. no doubt. Also a good point with the lip. Will be much easier to get it legal instead of going to a full bodykit (but hell I love this top secret supra)

Hey man whats wrong with the s2k? I remember the discussion we had and you have been absolutely addicted with the s2k.... Why you wanna go the way to the supra. OK its a great car but you are talking for over years now about the s2k so I just don't understand. you say its your dream. So why not getting this one?

as far as supporting mods,  yes when you increase turbo size you need to build the motor appropriately for the kind of boost you'll be running... www.supraforums.com would be a good place to start.  just make sure to explain yourself when you post, they're not very nice to noobs.  know what kind of power you're looking for and what you'll be using it for.  if a streetable Mk IV with a little extra kick is all your looking for then you wont need 600-700 hp. I mean like crashking said, if the S2 is your dreamcar by all means go for it! ill stop by the shop here and take pictures of the inline pro replica s2k thats being built, maybe that will sway your decision

Ok thanks to all for your comments. In fact I love the S2000. I just thought for some time now that it is time for me to try something new. I love honda and it was a great experience to me but there are so many great import cars around that it would be maybe the time to do a change. I'm very conservative I like the old ones more than anything new that is released. So I like the Evo VIII till Evo IX but I still don't like the X and we are talking about the look. The only new one I like is the Subaru Impreza WRX STI the 2009 model, but not as much as I could get it and drive it. Don't slap me for that guys I'm talking only about the looking not about the power under the hood.
So if I go for the Supra I think it would be nearly impossible to get it legal with 500+ HP. I think if I get the 2JZ-GTE Version with 330PS that 400PS are possible (to get it legal of course) and way more than enough for me. I would be satisfied. Ok I have still some months to go until I decide. I asked about the engine modifications since I'm worried about dropping 17k for a 15 years old car and destroying the engine simply because I have no experience with turbo engines, but most probably a local shop (good friends of me) will do the work, I simply have not time for building cars any more :(
Thanks to you guys.

Hey dude. I have a cousin near cologne and he is also a car fanatic and he also complains about the laws in germany. I think you guys have it quite difficult when building cars? He also told me that the police also get the cars till you undo your mods which are not legal. Damn. In spain you can do many things as long as your mods don't danger others. I think in greece there are similar conditions like here?

wow... you all need to come to the states, well except california.  tuning here is okay by pretty much anyone.  and as far as i know the only rule in california is that any engine swap is illegal if the engine is older than the car

Yeah man thats a dream. but don't misunderstand. only the german tuners are kind of fucked up because afaik its the only country where the laws are that strict/stupid. LOL. Sometimes I'm so glad living in a poor country but where citizens are kings ;)
