Just for fun I lost some thoughts on the GT-R and read some articles about it on the web. It's so cool when you see the GT-R being compared to the Porsche Turbo. So tell you the truth, maybe this one is the most ass-kickin car ever build. Why should I get me a Porsche while could buying a GT-R? The funny thing is that if we compare the two cars the Porsche looks like a toy!
Here we go with a direct compare:
Porsche:
- 480PS (353 KW)
- 0-100 KM/h 3,9 sec
- max speed 310 KM/h
- price: 143.000 €
GT-R
- 480 PS (353 KW)
- 0-100 KM/h 3,6 sec
- max speed 310 KM/h
- price: 75.000 €
So you see the difference? Without going into detail about power, about engine timings, about the turbo, about anything else. Just see the stats above. You can buy two GT-R's for the price of one Porsche Turbo and this baby smokes the Porsche at the traffic light. Wow. Now just give me one good reason for get myself a Porsche...
What do you people think about this?

The GT-R IS a great car. It's not only comparable with a Porsche (even the 911 turbo) but also better. Why do people buy Porsche? Because of the name. It's all about the name. An average richie rich would buy a Porsche instead of the GT-R. That makes the Porsche not better. The GT-R was "born" on the Nürburgring so its an highly optimised race car. We may not forget this.
I live in Stuttgart (south Germany) where the home of Porsche is. I see so many Porsches driving daily that it makes Porsche nothing special to me. It's like in China with bikes. You don't recognize this any more. It's also great fun having a 30 year old wannabe richy rich sitting in Porsche Boxster near me on the traffic light and getting smoked from my stock Honda Integra. Those idiots will never learn.

totally agree with all of you. Real rides deserve real men. Porsche is a good car but it's not affordable. Think of what you are able to create with a small budget. Getting a ride below 20k and spend about 10k more and you have a Supra smokin everythin

this is a good compare. Just the basics. the stats seem to be same but the GT-R definitely goes better on Nürburgring and beats the 911 on that track what means to me (accepting the fact that Nürburgring is the most complete, the most difficult and most variable track) that the GT-R rocks. GIVE ME 80k and I'll get one

but a porsche is still a porsche. It's still something special. Maybe you don't accept the fact that a Porsche is for years known for building fast sports cars but we must admit they still are porsches. of course there are maybe other sportscars that are maybe as fast as a porsche but porsche has the experience for so many years now and is still unbeatable. The GT-R seems to be an exception since the setup of this car is really great and stats are talking great. Nevertheless I don't understand why you people talk the porsche so bad.

If i consider to get me smokin sports car and had have the choice between the 911 turbo and the GT-R, damn I would get the GT-R. For half of the money you get a great ride smokin a 911. And imagine what you could do with the rest of the money. a VeilSide bodykit and some nismo enhancements under the hood....

I don't think the cars are directly comparable since the Porsche heads to a completely different cusotmer class than the GT-R does. The Porsche is more for prestige and if you are at the point wanting to buy a Porsche than money is no factor for you. You don't get a Porsche to really start racing with it. It's more to show what you got. You could get a Zastava and put a Porsche badge on. It's about the brand. At the other hand if you consider to buy a GT-R you most probably are someone who has the $$$ to get a car which will drive at nights to semi-legal events to smoke others.
